GGCharity is a charity pledge drive hosted inside your favorite E-Sports titles like StarCraft and Dota 2. Sign up, collect pledges, win games, raise money!
As a player, you'll pick a charity to play for and set a goal for the number of wins you want to achieve during the event. We'll create your personal page that your friends and family can visit to pledge money to your cause.
Once the event starts, just play! For StarCraft, play ladder matches, on your own or in a team. For Dota, play ranked or unranked matchmaking, in a party or soloqueue. As long as it's an official matchmaking game against other humans, it will count. Each time you win, you'll raise more of the money that was pledged to you, until you reach your goal. We'll automatically track your progress. When it's all over, we'll let you know how you did, and we'll give your donors the information they need to complete their pledge.
Great question! We never collect any payment information and never touch any of the money. When the event ends, donors will be sent directly to their charities to complete their pledges. You are always completely in control of the donation you finally choose to make.
That's ok! You won't be competing against other GGCharity players to raise money. The game's matchmaking system will make sure you'll be playing against simiarly skilled opponents from the world at large.
